A new anti-COVID-19 innovation patent of UPcare group has been granted
A new innovation patent invented by Apex Biotech Research of UPcare Group was granted by IP Australia on 10th of November, 2021.

The invention titled “FORMULATIONS COMPRISING BOTANICAL EXTRACTS” (Patent number: 2021106876) relates to antiviral compositions comprising andrographolide, ursolic acid, and piceid and their use in treatment of viral and bacterial infections (including COVID-19). Combinations of either andrographolide and ursolic acid, or andrographolide and piceid are also disclosed. Alternatively, extracts from Andrographis paniculata (for andrographolide), Eriobotrya japonica (for ursolic acid), and Reynoutria japonica (for piceid) are used.
The formulated ingredients provide dual mechanisms: targeting both virus reproduction and host receptor expression to prevent the infection of COVID-19, and are multi-functional: anti SARS-CoV-2 virus and antibacterial co-infection with regulation of immunity.
The safety of these natural source ingredients is trustable as they are Included in Pharmacopoeia of many countries for wide and long-term use and have been evaluated by stringent regulatory authorities such as TGA and FDA and confirmed by clinical trials in various phases.
The anti-COVID-19 effects of the combination of three active compounds have been proved in the in vitro research experiments performed in the Doherty Institute through “SARS-CoV-2 Antiviral and Antiseptic Screening Program” collaborated between CSIRO AAHL and the Doherty Institute. A clinical trial is underway and developed by a CRO in Australia.

Currently, Upare Group has urgently manaufactured two products with 2-3 botanical extracts as mentioned above as listed medicine targeting respiratory health protection, UPplus KBD Spray and Upplus A Capsules.

Both products are avaialble in selected major Australian pharmacies and online (eBay and official website).
Recently, Covid variant B. 1.1.529, known as Omicron, has an unusually large number of mutations, suggesting possible unknown new ways — and speed — with which it could infect people and be passed along. It was first reported to the WHO from South Africa on Nov. 24 2021 and has been found in Hong Kong, Israel, and Belgium. The WHO said the first known case of Omicron was on Nov. 9 and infections have increased steeply since.
“The new Covid-19 virus variant — Omicron — has a large number of mutations, some of which are concerning,” Director-General of the WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Twitter after the designation. The variant has emerged so rapidly that scientists don’t yet know exactly how fast it spreads, how it reacts to vaccines, nor to antibodies in people who had recovered from an earlier Covid-19 infection. The WHO says those questions might take weeks to answer.
“It is something that has emerged in South Africa and is spreading at a reasonably rapid rate,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci during a CNN interview in advance of a Friday WHO information-sharing meeting. According to the scientific journal Nature, the little-understood strain is the result of a large number of mutations that had already existed in other variants. The new variant seems to have spread rapidly through South Africa and then spread overseas.
While UPcare Group is fast tracking its fund raising and clinical trial to enable these products to be prescribed medicines, there are still many advantages for consumers to buy them as listed medicine (health supplements) to moisturise throat, boost immunity, reduce respiratory infections and promote general wellbeings. Numerous users gave Upcare feedbacks that these medicines are very safe and helpful in many ways, including many users who restored sense of smell and taste after getting infected with COVID19 within a few days. These are extraordinary natural products without risk of genetic modification or side effects, and they are the must-have products good for both short term and long term lung, mouth and brain health.
